Interview with our newly qualified fiduciary expert Raphael
Last November 3, Raphael Saccomani was accepted into the illustrious circle of certified fiduciary experts at the graduation ceremony in the Kursaal Bern. A well-deserved celebration for him and Ramseier Treuhand AG after two years of hard work. In the following interview, Raphael answers questions about his training and the impressions he gained during this time.
How did you get the idea to start this apprenticeship?
Even though I perhaps couldn't really imagine what was involved, fiduciary was my "dream job" from a very early age. I actually signed my apprenticeship contract with Ramseier Treuhand AG at the end of my seventh grade (in secondary school). After successfully completing my apprenticeship, I knew that this was the right path for me. After graduating as a business economist FH, it was a logical step to train as a fiduciary expert, as this training provides you with the comprehensive knowledge you need as a fiduciary mandate manager. And at that point, I still hadn't had enough of learning.....
During this time, you were also active in our company. How were you able to combine your work with your training?
Those two years were indeed very demanding for me due to this double burden. Of necessity, I had less time for my girlfriend, colleagues and family. But the rta also gave me the freedom to study. Of course, I'm now trying to catch up on a lot of the things that fell by the wayside during my training.
During this time, you were allowed to attend several modules on different topics. Of all the different modules, which was the most challenging?
The module on social security law comes to mind, as the legislation is supplemented by many court rulings. In addition, we dealt with many case studies with an international dimension, which is rather an exception in my day-to-day work. However, the knowledge I acquired has already helped me several times in my day-to-day work when dealing with such special cases. So it was probably not so far-fetched to look at these special cases after all.
Do you think that your work at Ramseier Treuhand AG prepared you for the modules and final exams?
Thanks to my practical work as a licensed auditor, I was able to save myself a few hours of learning in the auditing module. Of course, I already had the basic knowledge, not least thanks to my very good and practical apprenticeship at Ramseier Treuhand AG.
How much did you enjoy the graduation ceremony?
For me personally, it was the first graduation ceremony that I attended. What was special about this course was that I was able to work on the respective distance learning modules from home, which meant that contact with my fellow students was very limited.
So I took a few friends with me to the graduation party. Of course, we enjoyed the party to the full and the following day was a little shorter at the expense of the night...
What experiences and impressions from this training period will you take with you for your future career?
It is clear to me that this training is not the "end of the line" and that I must continue to stay on the ball with the dynamic development of theory and the general changes in the industry. I also realize that you can achieve a lot with a lot of perseverance and a clear goal in mind.
It's also now time to put into practice what I've learned in theory. It definitely remains exciting.
Thank you very much for your interview and congratulations again on passing your training to become a certified fiduciary expert.
